The Hua Long IP2000 has some decent features, but the only thing that really stands out to me is how much it looks like the iPhone. The buttons at the bottom are a quick giveaway. Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs confirmed months of speculation today by unveiling a new mobile phone that plays and downloads music and a set-top box that allows people to stream video from their computers to their televisions.

Apple doesn't own the iPhone trademark. What does that mean? Cisco rightfully owns the trademark for iPhone. And Apple can't sue them or bully them into giving it up. The tech world had taken the title for granted, assumed it to be proper, plastered it over magazine covers, and now the name is lost. Which means Apple's iPhone, if there even is an iPhone, will have to be named something else. It's a big deal, if you think about what that name meant.

Apple and Cingular have signed an agreement that will make the US' largest cell phone provider the exclusive carrier of Apple's forthcoming phone, sources report. Apple's iPhone remains on track for an early 2007 release.
Apple's phone will feature a candy-bar design with a 2.2-inch display and 3 megapixel camera. Robust iTunes and iSync support will also be delivered with the phone.
