With today's (Tuesday) announcement of the new 80 gig Ipod Fifth Generation, I think people are overlooking the new and improved shuffle. I honestly hated the shuffle and actually was given one via my work, but I never had the heart to use it.
But this new smaller 1 gig player looks pretty awesome. And it's cheap ($79). Click on the associated link to read more information on it.
