Neosonik Promises Wireless HD
Neosonik plans to showcase what it calls the first fully digtial wireless home theater system at CES in January.
What you get is a central A/V controller that transmits audio and H.264 video at up to 60Mbps to audio and video receivers plugged into your TV. Audio is sent wirelessly to Neosonik speakers.
The whole system lets you plug in any digital or analog audio or video device, such as an HDTV, CD/DVD/HD-DVD player or VCR. There's a variety of inputs and outputs including HDMI 1.3. You can also purchase a unit iwth an optional HD Radio Digital AM/FM tuner Card.
Nesononik claims the system has a range of up to 200 feet, although CNet only confirmed 120 feet in a brief test. I'd imagine that's still more than good enough for most home theater setups. And it had better be, with an expected price tag of $6,000 to $15,000 depending on the options you choose.
